Palletforce appoints non-executive Chairman

Palletforce has named John Brotherton non-executive chairman, taking over from Iain McAulay who steps down in January.

The appointment coincides with the company’s move to a new £30 million hub at Burton on Trent.

Commenting on the appointment, Chief Executive Michael Conroy said: “John’s experience of managing large warehouse facilities and projects is going to be very important as we move our centre of operations to our new 380,000-square-feet hub, the biggest single facility in the pallet network sector.”

In 1992, Brotherton led the management buyout of Swift Distribution, which was sold to Christian Salvesen for £85 million less than two years later. Following that he spent three years as Chief Executive of Securicor Logistics before joining ANC, where he worked with Conroy.
