K + N International CEO to take over in January

Kuehne + Nagel International AG said Reinhard Lange will take up his new function on January 1, 2009.

Lange (pictured) was appointed as the successor to CEO Klaus Herms by the Board of Directors in September 2007. Herms will continue to support the company in a consultancy role, the logistics company said.

Commenting, Klaus-Michael Kuehne, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors said: “The changeover at the top of the Management Board has been prepared diligently.”

He added that the decision ensures continuity in the company’s management and its strategic orientation, which is crucial in view of the challenging market environment.

Lange started his career with Kuehne + Nagel in 1971, and has been acting as Deputy CEO since autumn 2007.
