British bus and train operator Go-Ahead Group plc said on Thursday, June 19, it expects strong full year results driven by strong growth in its bus and rail divisions.

The firm said its bus division was generating strong revenue growth, despite record fuel prices.

Go-Ahead, which operates commuter rail services around London and Birmingham and bus services across Britain, is expected to report profit before tax and one-off items of £111.2 million for the year ending June 30, up from £110.1 million the year before.

“Our bus division is performing well. We have continued to improve margins, despite higher fuel costs and expect to deliver a significant increase in operating profit for the full year compared with the £55.8 million achieved last year," the company said in a statement.

Go-Ahead noted that its rail operations performance over the past two months was excellent, with continued strong underlying revenue growth. The firm said it expects the full-year operating profit from the division to be ahead of last year's £66.1 million.

It also said it expects results from its aviation services operations to be well ahead of last year.
